What this site collects
Short version: no accounts, no forms, and two visit counters.
Google Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits. When a page loads, Google receives the page
you viewed, the page that sent you here, your browser and device type, and an approximate
location derived from your IP address. It sets cookies named _ga and
_ga_* to recognize repeat visits. Google processes this data under its own
terms, and its default settings may connect it with other Google services.
I use the reports to see which pages and experiments people read. I don't sell your information. Under California law, Google Analytics' default data sharing may count as "sharing" personal information, and you can opt out using any of the options below.
Cloudflare Web Analytics
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which also counts visits with a small script it adds to each page. It sets no cookies and doesn't track you across sites. Cloudflare receives the page you viewed, the page that sent you here, your browser and device type, and page load timings.
How to opt out
- Install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Block third-party cookies or scripts in your browser, or use a content blocker. Either also stops Cloudflare's counter.
- The site works exactly the same without them. Nothing here depends on analytics.
Your light or dark choice
The site follows your device's light or dark setting. If you use the switch in the menu to pick one yourself, your browser remembers that choice (one word, "light" or "dark", in local storage). It never leaves your browser: it isn't a cookie, it isn't sent to this site or anyone else, and clearing your site data resets it.
Everything else
There are no accounts, sign-ups, or forms. Fonts and images are served from this site, not from third parties. If that changes, this page will change first.
