How this is made

How it's built

Every page is hand-written HTML and one stylesheet. There's no framework, no build step, and no tracking script. The files are served from an edge network close to wherever you're reading. The only code that runs is a few lines that send the www address to the plain one.

It's built with an AI coding assistant working under written governance. Decisions are written down, and every change passes a set of automated checks before it ships. The assistant does the typing. The judgment stays at the table.

The typefaces are Fraunces and Inter. The photographs are mine, from 2008 and 2009, shown at the size they were taken and never enlarged.

Why it's built this way

It's the same argument as the food. Fewer ingredients, handled well, beat a long list handled carelessly. A page that loads instantly and says what it means is the equivalent of good stock made from scratch. You can tell, even if you can't say why.
